DuoMid

Well, the Duomid has finally arrived. First impressions, were that it would float away in the air it is so light! Taking it out of the stuff sack, I’d never seen Cuben before, I’m scared to pitch it! I’m sure I’m going to poke my finger through! I haven’t a clue I’m going to be brutal enough to manipulate the poles with the tent under tension! Anyway, seam sealing this weekend

Great! You’re going to love it! Make sure you practice pitching it a few times before you try it ‘for real’, there’s a bit of learning involved. Keep your blog updated, I’m dying to see how you get on with it.

This will be the problem. I live in a flat in the middle of a city! It came with 2 12″ pole jacks as I want to try the A pitch. Is this stuff strong enough to peg out the 4 corners and play around with the poles?????

There’s no way I’m going to take liability for you ripping your DuoMid, but rest assured it’s stronger than you’d think! Spectra threads are pretty strong, and will stop any ‘tears’ progressing. Ron’s stitching is some of the best, and it if DOES go, it’ll get repaired very very quickly. I’m interested in the A-Pitch – could you take a photo if you manage it?

Yeah sure…. I’m guessing the procedure is to stake the corners loosely, set the poles, then batten everything down?
